What To Do And When

  1. File letter of intent with the Omicron-Psi National Headquarters.
  2. Choose whether you want your students to apply on line or through your office.
  3. Students who apply on line:
    • Download Membership Pamphlet, "We Dare You, Go For The Gold" and Xerox as many as needed for each prospective member.
    • Request names of students from Registrar who meet the first three criteria.
    • Create a letter that recognizes student's achievements and invite them to visit www.omicron-psi.com and apply for online membership. Make sure that you give them a deadline for application. You will be able to go into your college's area and review applications. Membership data will be available to you. Members are able to pay membership dues on line.
  4. Students who apply through your office:
    • Download Membership Pamphlet, "We Dare You, Go For The Gold" and Membership Application from web site and Xerox as many as necessary for prospective members.
    • Request names of students from Registrar who meet the first three criteria. Create a letter that recognizes student's achievements and invite them to apply for membership. Give these students a membership application and the "We Dare You, Go For The Gold" pamphlet. If you decide to use the advisor signature method, ask the students to have their advisor sign the application in the upper right hand corner. Request that the students return the application with their membership dues of $35.00. Checks should be made out to your school.
    • Choose a review committee and review applications for completeness. Committee has the option of adding additional criteria. Omicron-Psi leaves the decision of acceptability to the college or university.
    • Notify qualified students of their acceptance into Omicron-Psi. Make one check out to the Omicron-Psi Honor Society and send in the check and applications for membership. Make membership application copies for your records.
  5. Allow 3-4 weeks for Omicron-Psi to mail certificates, pins and honor cords to your office.
  6. Hold an induction ceremony for members.

Membership

Omicron-Psi invites you to become a member. If you meet the qualifications, just click on your local Chapter to apply.
